This blend of grain and malt whiskies is stored in Japanese Mizunara oak casks. It is bottled without cold filtration or colouring. An amber colour with seductive golden highlights, dried fruits and toasted nuts on the palate.
The very rare wood of the Mizunara oak gives notes of vanilla and coconut, while leaving little tannin. The tree is particularly slow-growing; for its wood to be suitable for casks, it must be at least 200 years old. What's more, the wood is difficult to work because of its irregular growth. As a result, the price of Mizunara casks is high.
This Cuvée, created to mark the 45th anniversary of the broadcasting of Goldorak. Made on the island of Honshu, this grain whisky (60% of maize, 10% of wheat) and malt has been aged in new American white oak casks for 5 years.
